The May Swenson Project, based out of Utah State University, wanted to redesign the site to be more attractive and user friendly. The goal of the site is to spread awareness for the deceased poet's work and life. The design is based off May Swenson's self portrait, which is featured on the homepage, and her frequent use of typography in her poems.
At the top of each page is an excerpt from one of her poems displayed typographically along with an illustration. Both are meant to mimic the author's style.
